Need to reinstall firefox, but currently have no browser

Hello all - I am a newbie and have limited knowledge of computers, so here goes...
I have an Acer netbook running on Linux and tried to upgrade Firefox, via assistance from Google. Clearly, I didn't know what I was doing and uninstalled Firefox entirely. So I now have a netbook with no browser, so how can I reinstall Firefox? I tried downloading a file on to a memory stick and putting that in my Acer, but don't know what do then? Please help, as I now cannot use my Acer.
Many, many thanks in advance.
Sandy

Hello Catkin, thanks for your prompt reply. I didn't really understand your question, but have since Googled it, and the OS is Linpus Linux Lite which I believe is Fedora based...?
Thanks
Sandy

Thank you, but where do I type this code. I am used to the Windows command box, but can't seem to find the Linux command box, to type these commands?
Thanks

If Linpus is like most other Linuxes you have two options ...

A virtual terminal which is accessed from the graphical desktop with Alt+Ctrl+F1 (there are further virtual terminals, accessed with Alt+Ctrl+F2, F3 etc. Get back to the graphical desktop by trying higher F keys in turn. Alt+Ctrl+F7 is common. In a virtual terminal you can log in directly as root.

Or a graphical terminal emulator. Maybe accessed from the menu by Applications -> System Tools -> Terminal. Maybe by Alt+F2 and then entering terminal or maybe gnome-terminal. Once in a terminal emulator you can switch to root by su -

Alternatively there may be a graphical interface to yum somewhere in the menus.
