Arrow Need sound card drivers !


Hello all,
I just installed Linux Slackware 10.1 on my laptop .
My laptop config is


855 GME chipset

Soundcard = SoundMAX

Laptop model = IBM Thinkpad R50e-1834-EQ1

It successfuly installed all componants including display
adapter,ethernet but failed to install sound drivers.
Can any1 tell me where i can get appropriet drivers ?
This is my first try using internet on Linux. Its pretty cool
experience.

Go to the manufacturers website and download linux drivers for it.

www.intel.com

www.soundmax.com

www.driversguide.com


NO where i found drivers for my OS. Pls tell how

I went to Alsa homepage and could not find support for your chipset:

still, you most likely have alsa installed (else, install it ). Try typing "alsaconfig" to see if you can set up your sound card. If your card is not listed, but is 100% compatible with a SoundBlaster, there might still be hope for you by tweaking with alsaconfig.
