Need sound card drivers !
 

Hello all,
I just installed Linux Slackware 10.1 on my laptop .
My laptop config is


855 GME chipset

Soundcard = SoundMAX

Laptop model = IBM Thinkpad R50e-1834-EQ1

It successfuly installed all componants including display
adapter,ethernet but failed to install sound drivers.
Can any1 tell me where i can get appropriet drivers ?
This is my first try using internet on Linux. Its pretty cool
experience.

Go to the manufacturers website and download linux drivers for it.

I went to

www.intel.com

www.soundmax.com

www.driversguide.com


NO where i found drivers for my OS. :( Pls tell how

I went to Alsa homepage and could not find support for your chipset:

still, you most likely have alsa installed (else, install it ;)). Try typing "alsaconfig" to see if you can set up your sound card. If your card is not listed, but is 100% compatible with a SoundBlaster, there might still be hope for you by tweaking with alsaconfig.
