mysql cant addgroup? Command not found?


I had tried to add group to the mysql but it comes out the below error.
Anyone knows what the problem and able to help? Thanks......

[eugene@localhost eugene]$ cd Installed
[eugene@localhost Installed]$ cd mysql
[eugene@localhost mysql]$ groupadd mysql
bash: groupadd: command not found
[eugene@localhost mysql]$

su
[type root pass]
groupadd mysql

I had tried to use "su" and key in the root password but it sill came out the same problem

[eugene@localhost mysql]$ groupadd mysql
bash: groupadd: command not found


Anyone knows the answer and able to help me?

Thanks for your replies....

Stil cant works and come out with same error........

The below command are from a website:
# /usr/local/mysql]# groupadd mysql
# [create new group 'mysql' under /etc/group]

I dont really understand.........

Anyone can help me? Thanks

You did not get: "command not found" so it looks to me like it worked;
Now try:

cat /etc/group | grep mysql

If you see nothing it dod not work. If you get the output "mysql:x:#" it worked.
