Multi-machine download manager?

Hello again all.
I'm looking for a download manager for my linux box that will allow me to give it links to download from my windows box.

To elaborate, i'd like to be able to click in a link in my windows browser (Opera) and have it send instructions to my linux box to download the file.

Can anyone give me any pointers as to software that can accomplish this?

you can use "putty" to log-into your linux box from your windows box via ssh and then tell it to download the file using wget, just as if you were at the linux box...

you'd just need to copy the link from your browser and paste it into the terminal...

That's the step i'd like to automate Like for ed2k links, I have a windows frontend that links up to an mldonkey server on my linux machine, so I click in firebird on windows and it registers under mldonkey on the linux box. I'd like to get the same functionality on normal downloads.
