Multi Squids on One machine------

hello Sir,

We had seen an article that we can have more than one Squid Proxy on One machine.

The machine is having Multiple Processors. i.e. If the machine is having 3 processors then we can make 3 Squids. But the Configuration file( /etc/squid/squid.conf) will be same.

Is it possible. If yes How?

Thanks

Why do you need 3 proxies with the same settings? And they'd need to be on different ports or ips.

Thanks for quick response sir,

Actually we are having One machine with 3 processors. One Ethernet card ,but 3 IP addresses ( i.e. Virtual IP addresses). If we want to configure 3 squids on same machine( using same connfiguration file) and diffrent ports.

Then how it is possible.

Thanks sir

In the squid configuration, there should be a bind option where you can specify which IP address it should bind to.
