I dont have any sound when playing a dvd using mplayer.

I could play my mp3's using xmms, also my mpeg files had sound as well, but now i have installed mplayer they dont.

I just changed the outpu plugin on xmms options, and now i *can* hear the mp3s, but i still dont have any sound when playing the mpeg files or on playing a dvd ??

Mplayer message is, device busy ?

any help guys ?

ps: just gone into my ~/ directory and there is a file there called audiodump.wav wasnt there before and when i play it, it sounds like the sound from the begining of the dvd movie im trying to play...........????

whats going on

look at your ao (audio output) driver in you mplayer config file (if you've set it up properly you'll know where it is).
i think you'll find the problem is there.
