Works here in both an xterm (under fluxbox) as well as
in a full-screen console. What WM/DE are you using?

To get a row I have to triple-click.

This happens to me, too. Using Linspire 5.0, which uses KDE version 3.3.2. Applications tried; Firefox, Thunderbird, Konsole, Knotes, Open Office Writer.

I can't find any setting in the Control Center that controls this behavior.
