boot selection

Hello, i got slackware on my first HD with MBR and planning to install PLHAK is another distro i found on the net i want to try my hands on. This will go on my 2nd HD slave, now the question is during the install in order to be able to dual boot both operating system, what should i do during the installation when it comes to where do you want to install lilo, should i install it to MBR? don't forget i got slackware 10 running with MBR already. i attempted this before with white box linux and i lost my slackware then had to reinstall, trying to avoid that second time.
thx

MBR is the MasterBootRecord at which beginning the boot loader (lilo, grub...) is located. In order to make your new distro bootable you either have to put the new boot loader in the mbr and overwrite the old one or keep the old one and add a new boot selection (see lilo doc on how to do this).
Btw, when you installed white box linux, you probably didnt' lose your slackware (unless you overwrote the whole installed distro) but just overwrote the bootloader and didn't include the old distro in the new boot loader. That's why you weren't able to boot the old installation anymore. To fix this, you just had to add it to the boot loader selection.

^^ As said above I would recomend not installing a boot loader for your next distro and just edit lilo.conf to add in your new linux distro. It's pretty darn simple if you dunno how to do that just ask ;x
