Mandrake Linux 9.0 Login problem

After displaying the login screen ...i can't login....
After entering the ID and Pass itz blank for some time
and then again the login screen...
No splash screen for KDE loading ....
no password problem ....itz working nicely until yesterday
my friend changed some security settings ....but he can't
remember what he did .....
plz help ...i can't even think of reinstalling the OS

Are you trying to login as root? Some securtiy programs, like bastille, can disable root login.

login as root or normal user ...same result
