Exclamation Mandrake - KDE 3.x config

I'm running Clic Mandrake 9.0 on a Sony Vaio PCG-GRX550. I'm use KDE 3.x as my DE and ReiserFSs. The system boots quickly and pretty clean (varying usb/flash automount, but I can mount it once in the OS).

I've previously only used FreeBSD 5.1 as an XP replacement, and I was very familiar with the filesystem hierarchy and the file names. I switched to Linux from Unix because I wanted a more standard Linux experience for the sake of an OEM company I'm going to start, mainly pushing Linux desktops (primarily Lindows, but Red Hat, Mandrake, Suse, and FreeBSD will be available as personal, personal, business/personal, business/personal, and business use, respectively.

Here's the problem:

I right click...desktop or kicker and I can't get the graphical configuration/preferences to pop up. It just kills the menu and doesn't do anything else.

I'm contemplating purchasing a copy of Red Hat 9.0 from my local Fry's, or maybe even Suse or, if they're selling Mandrake, cuz I'd like fully pre-configured support, so I can emulate what a customer would experience.

I guess I'm only asking for help because I don't want to have to reload an OS.

Is there anyone who can point me in the right direction?

P.S. - Happy Halloween

Well first what are you trying to do? If by "graphical config/prefs' you mean X settings, many KDE installations don't have such a thing.

Otherwise, the app you are looking for is probably the 'Control Center'. If you can't find it on the menu, the command is kcontrol. Try that in a shell and you should be good to go.
