KDE config question

I am running KDE under red hat 9.0 on all my machines, 2 servers 1 desktop an 1 laptop. When I login the red hat network alert icon always shows up on the kde "taskbar" at the bottom of the screen however it doesn't do this when I login on the laptop, I always have to start it myself.

Is there a config setting to set my laptop to start the network alert icon when I login?
