Mandrake:error installing packages

Hi

I've just managed to install Mandrake 10 on my system. I'm dual booting with XP.

During the install I got the following messages:

There was an error installing packages
pygtk2.0-2.0.0-2mdk.i586

tetex-2.0.2-14mdk.i586

recode-3.6-4mdk.i586

rpm-build-4.2.2-7mdk.i586

quanta-3.2-9mdk.i586

rdist-6.1.5-20mdk.i586

rprep-0.99.16-2mdk.i586

screen-4.0.2-1mdk.i586

symlinks-1.2-15mdk.i586

What does this mean and what should I do about it? I have not tried to use Mandrake yet, just checked that it boots up OK, and it seems to.
Thanks!

it just means what it says, it means it couldn't install those packages... you can use the package manager to install them if you wish to, although none should really affect your use of it. Actually you'd probably want to install symlinks, tetx and pygtk. when you install them manually, if there are still problems post the errors here for further help.

When I attempt to install these packages, I get an error message saying that there is a "corrupt signature" and could go no further

I got this version of Mandrake from someone else who downloaded it for me. Is is possible that something went wrong when they burnt the CD?

lots of people have been having problems with signatures in rpm's recently... i'd suggest downloading the most recent versions of each file from mandrake cooker, or a download site like rpmfind.net and installing them.
