mandrake 8.1

hi!
I just install mandrake 8.1 and I find the floppy and the cdrewitable Icon are missing.
after I create the icon on the desktop, I try to access the floppy from the terminal. it says unknown device for both of the drives.
I would like to know howto specify both of the drives from the terminal.

In MDK 8.1 there is no automount, as it was in previous versions. You need to install it yourselft. There are many threads on this forum about this.

Automount was broken in 8.1.

If you've got icons with the correct path, have you got the 'mount' option when you right-click on them? It worked when I used 8.1.....

For info, no problems with mounting them in 8.2
