whoot. day late dollar short my friend. my buddy here at work joined mandrake club. and got isos for me yesterday burned them and brought them in today sitting here at work wanting to goto store 2 buy new hdd lol

For now you have to download everything from Mandrake mirror servers and then install it from a hard drive or DVD-R/DVD+R. You can use a program like wget. Do not forget to make a boot floppy or CD.

Hmm, was I mistaken? I just downloaded three isos from this ftp
ftp://sunsite.mff.cuni.cz/OS/Linux/D.../mandrake/iso/
and it sure looks like Mandrake 10.0 Ce
the filnename is :Mandrakelinux-10.0-Community-Download-CD1.i586.iso

So the problems I'm facing installing it could well be solved in the official version?
When will the official version isos be available for dl? Anybody know?

I believe the official version is the boxed package or you have to pay some fee for internet access to the official version.

You didn't install the developmental packages? As root, command:
urpmi gcc
An Introduction to the Midnight Commander. You can install it by commanding:
urpmi mc
