Do the official ISOs require 800MB CDs to burn? I've downloaded the ISO images but can't get them to burn to my 700MB CD-Rs.
If it requires larger CD-Rs, is their another way to install (download to a second HD and install from their somehow)? Any links to instructions on doing this?
the "Official" iso's will easily fit on 700meg media. i think all 3 iso's run around 695megs each. all iso's are designed to fit on 700meg media, AFAIK, so you must have done a bad burn or had a bad CD('s).
Originally posted by Riley Did you check the md5 sums? You must have downloaded bad isos. If they check out there is an easy way to install from your hard drive.
I re-downloaded and verified the MD5s. All three check.
I'm using Nero version 5.5.10.50. I open the ISO and it asks me to put in blank media. I've tried this several times, and it comes back with: 'There is not enough space to burn this compilation onto this medium'. (I'm using 80min 700MB 48x CD-Rs). This is on WinXP Pro.
Anyone know what I'm doing wrong or what I can check in Nero to get it to let me burn the ISOs?
for NERO versions 5.x & up, do the following............
Start Nero
Choose the menu command "File"->"Burn Image"
An "Open" file dialog box appears with the following image types supported (*.nrg, *.iso, *.cue)
Select your download ISO file and click Open
The "Write CD" dialog box appears with several tabs (Info, Foreign image, Misc, Burn).
Click the 'Burn' Tab
Confirm that 'Write' and 'Finalize' are selected
Click on "Write". Watch it burn.
note: If 'Finalize CD' (No further writing possible!) check box is not checked, a Nero - Burning Rom message box appears stating, "There is not enough space available to burn this compilation unless the CD is finalized after burning." "Do you want Nero to finalize it after burning?" Click the Yes button.

Thanks for the info. I tried your steps, but my screens are different than what you mention (I never get the options to 'Finalize CD' under the "Burn Image" dialog. Anyway, I went out to Nero's web site and found an update to verion 5.x.x.56 and installed that, and it's working now. Hopefully, I'll be running Mandrake 10 soon!
