make problem in Suse 9.1


When the ./configure command is done, It's time to run the "make" command, But my machine refusing it.

retry@linux:~/Documents/pkgconfig-0.15.0> make
bash: make: command not found

What can the problem be?

you dont have `make' installed. what distibution are you using?

Suse 9.1

Oh... is there an own package for "make"?

yeah, but i dont know what its called in suse (i just read the title of your question so i now know the distribution you are using).

make file is in your /usr/bin folder, check is it there??
/usr/bin

The package containing make is called... <surprise :-)> : make. You'll find it if
you start YaST, then go to the software installation part. Select "Packet groups"
(not sure what the exact title in english version is) as filter, then go to the bottom
of the list to the left. You'll find a group which should be "zzz all" (in german:zzz Alle)
at the bottom of the list. Click it, then find the make package in the list of packages
to the right.
