Mac - Partition external HD and install bootable Linux?
Hi,
I'm running OSX 10.6.5 on my 8 GB iMac with a Boot Camp partition. I have 3 Firewire HD's attached to my iMac, serving backup and video editing duties.
I've decided that I want to experiment with a Linux distro (which one, I have no idea). I really don't want to go thru partitioning my internal iMac HD, and I like the fact that OSX can boot to a clone of my internal HD (I make 2 of these every day). This made me wonder if I could partition one of my external drives and install Linux into it. Once done, I can (somehow) choose to boot from the external Linux partition. I currently use the ReFit boot manager to control booting into OSX or Boot Camp Windows.
Can an external HD bootable Linux be created to work with a Mac?
Thanks for your time.
