LVM Issue


Hello Friends,

I come across one scenario,help me on this,

I am having 25GB of LVM, Its completely full..

In this scenario If I go with LV Reduce what will hapen,

Is it allow for reduce, If allow what happen data will be lost??

You need to shrink the filesystem either before or during (with the "--resizefs" option) the lvreduce operation. If you do not, the filesystem will not be mountable any more.

Note that you cannot shrink a filesystem while it is mounted (not with any filesystem I know of, at least). That will probably mean that you have to boot from some alternative medium and do the adjustment from there.
