lower font resolution in RH9 than Windows

On my Dual Boot system with Windows XP and Red Hat 9 the screen font quality under Xwindows seems lower than under XP. This is with the same graphics card (Nvidea 440 mx) and screen (Philips 107s) running at the same resolution (1024x768). Any ideas where to start? This is the key reason for not swithing more of my apps to linux right now.
Best Regards
David

Are you using the nvidia drivers? can you post the output of cat /var/log/XFree86.0.log. Most of the settings are controlled in /etc/X11/XF86Config-4

You could always try the Font De-Uglification HOWTO and see if that makes a difference. Some of it won't apply, but it wouldn't hurt to try

Many thanks - I've got the nVidia drivers loaded and the resolution is fantastic. Many thanks for the help.
