Logging into AIX server.

Hi,

I would like to log into my AIX server and transfer files to my SUSE Linux PC. I can log on the AIX server using telnet, but I can not figure out how to copy files to the Linux box. I know both root passwords.

This would probably be better posted in the forum for AIX and other Unices, as most people who have used Linux have no experience with AIX. They would probably know better how it works, as they will most likely be enterprise users who probably use Linux also somewhere intheir company with AIX and other Unices.

EDIT: You should be able to use NFS to transfer files between the 2 computers now that I think about it. Set up an NFS server on the AIX machine and allow read, write access to the Linux machine's IP address.

You should check out scp (secure copy) or rsync.

i.e

$scp aix_IP_address:/path/to/files/* /path/to/put/files/on/linux
