While wandering and wondering and trying to learn, I came across a posting that said I should read
LINUX: Rute User’s Tutorial and Exposition
Paul Sheer
August 14, 2001
2001 is the mesozoic period in computers. This tutorial is over 300 pages. Is it still worth reading or is too outdated?
I am not yet even a newbie to Linux, just a wannabe right now. I'm trying to learn all I can about software and hardware before switching.
IMO the rute user's tutorial is still a worthwhile read. Most of the basics of using the shell have not changed in the last ten years. Feel free tkip the section on hardware, though, as IIRC it deals with a lot of obsolete hardware (this is what I remember -- it's been a few months since I looked through it).
