What version of CUPS?

With 1.4.1, I have found that I have to install HPLIP

Is the printer detected by CUPS when installing?**

**I'm assuming use of the CUPS web interface (localhost:631). I don't use any other setup utilities.

Use the URL http://localhost:631/
in Firefox and CUPS will display a headline like :

" Common UNIX Printing System 1.3.10 "

EDIT : Well, it's 'seamonkey' in puppy-4.31 and
the line under the browser address line says :
" Printer on localhost - CUPS v1.1.23 ".

.....

What driver are you using?

Did you try HPLIP?

Is the printer detected when using the CUPS interface?
