I have a samsung laser printer xpress m2026w mono, i have tried to install a driver but most dont work, but I did find one m2020-series_sec30cda7b6ebob

this driver does work but only after i have tried to print after the fourth try, this happands every time i try to print.

I am using Linux mint 19.3 on a Acer timeline aspire U laptop.

Skully,

Welcome to LQ forums.

I found the uld_V1.00.39_01.17.tar.gz for the M2026 at:
https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/printers

Select Open with Archive Manager > OK.

Click on Extract.

Click on Extract.

Close.

The general idea is explained in this post.

Change directory to where you downloaded the driver archive package eg Downloads
Code:
cd Downloads
then unpack the archive
Code:
tar -zxvf uld_V1.00.39_01.17.tar.gz
Change to the uld directory it provides
Code:
cd uld
and execute the install.sh script like this
Code:
sudo ./install.sh
It should take care of the necessary configuration steps.

For some reason it seems that how the page formatting and send to printer may take quite a while.

Many printers can be set in a mode that makes generic printing possible too.

Some printers will work fine with the generic printer driver, did you try that?
I have used that for laser printers in the past that did not have a lot of options, or if I just needed to print and did not need double-sided.
