KVM

Hi,

I am looking at ways how to communicate between a Guest OS process and a process running as user application on the KVM hypervisor ( KVM is on RHEL ).

Idea is to send a "show command" from the Guest OS process to the user process on RHEL and display the output back in the guest OS.

Is there such a communication pipe ?

Thanks

Hi,

Welcome to LQ!

You could look at ' Kernel Based Virtual Machine' that has loads of information. Plus a simple search would get you the information.

The above links and others can be found at 'Slackware-Links'. More than just SlackwareŽ links!

Thanks for the pointer. I tried searching, however I could only find writeups on VM-VM communication, VM->hypervisor communication (vmchannels ).

As I am new to linux, I need a complete path starting from VM's user space query all the way down to hypervisor(KVM), msg passing from KVM -> KVM's user space application.

Please let me know
