Kubuntu 5.0.4 Screen Resoloution

I had my monitor running at 1024x768 while running windows, but on the same monitor, KDE will not allow me to run it at anything above 640x480. Is there anything i can do to change this at all?

I am not running Kubuntu, but I would imagine you have to specify your actual monitor or video card.. Sounds to me like your using the default monitor settings. You should be able to change it in Control center somewhere. Most likely under Display or Monitor???

Look under System Settings(or system tools I forget)-->Hardware Browser and see if your video card got configured.

Look at Control Center-->Periphials(sp??)-->Display and see if it lets you change you res. from there.

I think Kubuntu uses Xorg. I am not familar with editing the config file for xorg, but I am sure there are tons of examples via google.
