Kontact ... anyway to set it for the U.S.?

It isn't that I couldn't use it this way it is just that it is strange to me. Examples:

Instead of City/State/Zip it says Locality/Region/Postal Code. Also instead of FIRST and LAST name it says GIVEN name and FAMILY name.

Can I change these somehow to the U.S. standard?

The chosen terms apply generally around the world. To make them specific to the U.S., edit the source code, then recompile.
