Keyboard not working when in X (KDE)

Don't know what I did and now my keyboard is not operational in KDE, can't even login. The mouse works perfectly.

If I boot in failsafe mode , the keyboard works perfectly.

The last change I did was to enable nvidia twinview , and now twinview is working but keyboard doesn't.

I even changed keyboards (USB & PS/2) but no change.

My distro is Mandrake 10.1 CE and I use the KDM login (not mdkkdm)

Any ideas?

If its only in kde try opening a different window manager or in the terminal go through yast and see if that will do it for you. or try kcontrol. past that i cant think of anything else... If it doesnt work when there is graphics at all try posting the contents or your xorg.conf or XF86Config..? my is in /etc/X11/ on suse 9.2 im your its the same for you. it may have a -4 or something on the end. That may be tough without grpahics though.

finally made it ,

step1: replace kdm with mdkkdm
step2: (just to make sure) X does not start on boot

everything is fine

thanks anyway
