Unhappy kernel panic


hi! when i try to install RH 6.2 on my computer i stops when loading with the last line sayng: kernel panic: VFS: unabel to mount root fs on 03:05.

what is wrong?? what do i do??

I believe it's trying to load ramdisk

If your booting from cd I'd might try making a boot floppy for cd.img and seeing if that helps or maybe you might need to pass some parms during boot:

It's trying to load the root partition on 03:05 (major:minor). If you run 'file /dev/hda5' you'll see that it has major/minor version 3/5. So hda5 should be a valid root partition. Your kernel should have support to be able to mount that type of filesystem. The partition should be in a state that it is mountable without errors.

I made a boot disk out of boot.img, didīt have the cd.img, and now i works!! thx alot!
