KDE Taskbar

I seem to have lost my KDE taskbar when I log in as a user. When I log in the KDE taskbar appears at the bottom of the screen momentarily as a blank bar but then disappears. While this is happening the KDE window goes through all the startup processes but does not appear to make it through to the end. I appear to be in KDE without the taskbar. Please help.

I forgot to add that when I log in as root, I get the full KDE taskbar and everything is OK. Could if be something in the user configuration?

Again, being a newbie I am referring to the KDE panel that should reside at the bottom of the screen.

Open a console and type "kicker" (that's the panel's name - don't type the inverted commas) and this should demonstrate that it can be started up or not. What happens?

Thanks esteeven. I went and added another user and deleted the first one that had the problem. That cleared up the problem. The first user may have had some corrupted files or I did something wrong in configuring the KDE. If the problem occurs again I'll remember to try "kicker". Much thanks!
