KDE matrix_gl screensaver problems.....

I am having some problems with my screensaver. I downloaded the matrix_gl screensaver, opened it with tar and then ran
# ./matrix_gl -install

This installs the screensaver and it is listed in the screensaver menu when I configure my desktop. I can select it and it runs. The problem I am having is that when I log out or restart my laptop It is no longer installed and I have to install / configure it again. Does anyone know why this would be happening?

Thanks
