Just installed Slackware 10.0 boot ?


I installed it and it wouldn't give me the choosing screen weather I want to boot into linux or windwos it just boots to windows right away.
What do I do.

Did you make a boot disk? -> try booting from it.
If not, try booting from the installation cd and see if there's a rescue option.

ou I think I know what I did wron but I don't know how to correct it. I didn't configure LILO file. Can I just reboot from cd and run LILO config?

Ok I will rephrase my question how do I boot into linux kernel on the HD without using LILO?

boot from a live cd or disk 2 and give the option root=/dev/hd?? where ?? refers to whatever your root (that's /) partition is, at the boot prompt.

that should dump you into a shell and you can try to rerun lilo again and see if it does update.

or as a last resort since you just installed, is to just reinstall again and make sure you configure lilo and install it to the MBR (which isnt as unsafe as it says!) its actually the only way i have ever gotten it to work.. LOL
