Java and Firefox

I followed the instruction on Java.com to the letter. put the sym link in the firefox plugin folder, but java still doesn't work. Any ideas? I am using SuSe 10 and the latest version of firefox.

have you checked about plugins...and did your restart after making the link... Also If I am not mistaken the firefox plugin still goes in the mozilla/plugins directory.

Here is how I made my symlink:

ln -s /usr/java/jre1.5.0_02/jre/plugin/i386/ns610-gcc32/libjavaplugin_oji.so /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins

and the resulting directory listing in usr/lib/mozilla/plugins:

lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 58 Jul 23 2005 libjavaplugin_oji.so -> /usr/java/jre1.5.0_02/plugin/i386/ns7/libjavaplugin_oji.so*

Thanks! It must have been that I was putting the sym link in the rong folder.
