So what kind of Linux system are you interested in: big? small? lots of hand-holding? lots of eye-candy? or a system that makes it easy to look under the lid and see how it works? Everyone's requirements are different and Linux can satisfy them all. Knowing your personal priorities will make it easier for people to recommend a Linux system for you.
