Internet not working on Kubuntu SBC Global internet

Hi i just installed Kubuntu and i love it. But i cant seem to get my internet working. I use sbc global internet where i have to sign in using a user name and password. When i sign into kubuntu it seems to detect my modem but when i go to any web site it doesn't go anywhere. I have tried • Open Konsole by going to KMenu → System → Konsole - Terminal Program.
• At the command prompt type sudo pppoeconf and press Enter.

but when i do this it asks for my sudo password and when i enter it nothing happens.

im not sure what to do or if that would do anything. Any ideas?

Are you allowed to start pppoeconf as root through sudo? Check sudoers.

Figured it out

I finally figured it out! I found this online. I made a few tweeks where i screwed up.

Open Konsole by going to KMenu → System → Konsole - Terminal Program.
 At the command prompt type sudo pppoeconf and press Enter.
**This is were i messed up. It is going to ask for your sudo password. The sudo password it the password you use to log in. Then press enter.**

 A text-based menu program will guide you through the next steps, which are:

a.Confirm that your Ethernet card is detected.
b.Enter your username provided by your ISP. **Make sure to erase "Username" on the screen then enter your username from your ISP.
c.Enter your password provided by your ISP.
d.If you already have a PPPoE connection configured, you will be asked if it may be modified.
e.When asked if you want the noauth and the defaultroute options and want to remove the nodetach option, choose Yes.
f.When asked if you want to use peer DNS, choose Yes.
g.When asked if you want the Limited MSS, choose Yes.
h.When asked if you want to connect at start up, select Yes to enable a start up connection, or No to manually connect.
i.When asked if you want to connect immediately, select the appropriate response.
 To start your ADSL connection on demand type pon dsl-provider and press Enter.
 To stop your ADSL connection type poff dsl-provider and press Enter

Hope this helps someone! Thanks for the replys
