Interesting quick comment, most people don't know

My girlfriend is not completely uninformed about computers. When I showed her that there is a free office suite and a free image manipulation app for Linux she was surprised and impressed.

Most people don't know about all the cool open source software availble.

Or that you get a ton of it with a "deluxe" boxed set.

I am at CompUSA one day checking out the latest Suse, Mandrake and Red Hat offerings.
A guy walks up and starts asking about Linux.
One of his questions (as we are standing in the middle of row upon row of Windows software applications) is "where is the Linux software?".
I am not sure he believed me when I told him that any of the "deluxe" boxed sets had many of the useful utilities he would want (not just the "OS" as Windows users are used to getting) and that more was available on the internet.
