Just a comment...
DId anyone realize that 45 pages out of 51 in this forum contains threads with 0 replies ??
I personnally did scan through all of them to answer to all the thread I was able to, but I have troubles assuming that all these threads cannot be answered, at least once!
I think we should all do an effort to, at least, refer them to the good ressources if we can't help! Because, personnally, if i were in their position, I would really like to get an answer!

I agree, although I have to say that I feel like most of the questions asked on this site are answered in a correct way.

Yeah, this is true!
I am not complaining about the good work that is done, of course! People on this forum do a great job!
But I would just feel bad if I were in this part of the 45 pages who were not answered at all, you know what I mean...
That's all!

I do my part on answering those 0 reply threads, however it should be noted that quite a few of them are un-noticed double posts, easily found from a search, or threads that do not need replies (I got it working!!! for example).
Cool

Also a lot of the posts are repeat questions, I've noticed this a lot, and I've only been here a week I don't know what the regulars think, but it grinds me down
I try my best with the zero replies but I'm no Linux guru, and sometimes the people who do know the answers miss the post.

0 replies != unanswerable questions
Like those before me pointed out, many of them are repeat questions and if the poster had used the search feature, (s)he would have solved his/her problems without even posting. I have no sympathy at all for these people, but I will try to at least post a useful URL for them to read.
Some are really strange questions which are particularly application/hardware-specific and I won't know how to help them with this because I don't have the things they are having problems with.

We do try and help everyone - more often than not, the threads with no replies are difficult to answer for one reason or another......................

I agree. I am going through "a lot" of those 0 replies threads as well because I would like to try to help. I was able to get some solutions to some of them, but some are really very hard to answer.
And somehow, if I was one of those people, I'd be rather reading a solution than a post of somone telling me that he has read my thread but was not able to find a solution - I can see through the VIEWS as to how many have read it anyways.
Just hard to say, som are really difficult to answer in my opinion.
Other than that, I must again thank all of those that are helping other users day in and out...it's a great "FREE" service hehe

I answer all the questions I can. But some people are good in one area, some in another. Linux is a lifetime learning experience.
I've been posting heavily the last four or five days and have already answered the same question several times.
