installing safari on XUbuntu

I did it again. I bought a laptop with crappy windows7 on it that was running 56 programs on it straight out of the box. Well I couldn't slow down its demand to more than to 44 programs running at once, so I got rid of its non-sense and installed XUbuntu, why I choose XUbuntu an experiment to see if I liked it. Now I bought this laptop for school and for the online classes I need to use Safari. Can and how do I install Safari? It is necessary for the dang ALEKS (a math program) to work. If I have to can I run XP on xubuntu and how?
Thank you

you can run xp in linux through VirtualBox https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Linux_Downloads
then you will need to install xp in the virtual machine
it is actually kind of fun runing different OS in virtualbox

Good luck to you.

Should do-able with WINE, less mucking around and RAM use than a virtual machine-

I installed wine and then ran the browser safari. The browser comes up but does not work, it will not load a page. Am I doing something wrong or is this perhaps a program that does not work on wine?

First-of-all, Safari will not work properly on Xubuntu.
There is IE4Linux which is supposed to work with.

And why would you want to use Safari when there are some other good browsers?

And talking about windows installation, if you want only some of the windows softwares to use then why installing complete Windows OS when there is Crossover. Here is the link check this out:

http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/linux...ing-crossover/

And if this is not what you want then the simple solution is install virtual machine on your Xubuntu and install Windows on that virtual machine.

Thank you Arya
I like this information, I returned the new laptop because of its hardware issuses. The Acer One D257 freezes constantly and lots of others have had problems with it. I now have the HP laptop and I am using Ubuntu on it instead of XUbuntu, I didn't really care for it that much.
Thank you again
