Installing Linux -Ubuntu 14.04LTS on 3 differents Apple mac units a success

I want to inform those of you who would have early Apple MacPro (2006-2007), wit dual Zeon(R) CPU5130, also those that would have iMac with intel Core 2 Duo CPU and /or recent MacBook with Intel I5 CPU.

For all 3 cases I have douwnloaded Linux-Ubuntu 14.04LTS on a USB flashdrive because it contains EFI and it seems to work better and faster specially for the old MacPro because it was much slower to accept the DVD at first.

To engage loading from the USB flashdrive, you need to press the ''C'' key for the old MacPro. And for the other 2 units you press the Alt key.
I always keep the original apple keyboard to facilitate reject DVD if you need to use those.

The Ubuntu 14.04 fitted all three different computers with no problem so far afer 4 months running.

Old Apple Mac with dual Zeon processor ( 4 cores) works like a charm and speed is no problem so far. Lets remember that Apple would not let you upgrade beyond 10-6.8 (32 bits only) and much worse not to Yosemite because it was outdated.
Good by Apple! with your predetermined obsolescence. This unit is unbelivable and stable. I encourage anybody to switch to Linux to enjoy more years of pleasure with their Mac Computers...
