installed application in linux ! no shortcut??

where can i find my installed application on linux... just installed wine using apt-get,and i was expecting an icon to appear in the desktop or the start menu like in windows..lol

..plz help me out..

And typically wine is not run by itself. You need to give it an application parameter with/without options.
For eg.,

#wine /windows/games/nfs.exe

Do a '#man wine' for more info.

In a proper distro, an application which is intended to be run thru the GUI--and which is installed with the package manager-- is usually added to the menus somewhere.
WINE is only runnable at the command-line, or--after setting up the associations--by double-clicking on an *.exe file.
