hi,
my computer is configured with intel 82845 gl video card.when i tried to install redhat 9 linux,installation went ok but after logging in when i entered startx command it didnt lead to the desktop as it must do.the same happened when i tried to install fedora.i thought it was some error during the installation.but later i found that intel have listed a few linux drivers for my video card saying that linux will run only when these drivers are installed.now my questions are:
whether these drivers not installed during the linux installation?????
how could i install the above drivers without installing linux??????

Try to access a terminal using alt + Function keys. Then login as root and run xorgconfig. This should help.

Red hat 9 uses xfree86 so it would be XF86Config I think?If you have newer hardware you may want a more current distro,If your hardware is a few years old you should be fine.
