instalation error

i got mandriva 2009 from this site....nd wen eva i try and install in it gives me an error message say "fatal error finishing initialization" what is the problem?

Not enough information to help you, and I think you probably downloaded Mandriva from a different site. What kind of hardware are you installing on? What message(s) are you getting, before the "fatal error" one? Have you tried other distros?

And please spell out your words....

check to see if you have enough drive space to install it.
and make sure that you're getting mandriva from mandriva, do a md5 checksum on the disk and make sure it's good before installing it.
