im a linux rookie hp mini 110 ubuntu


just installed the newest ubuntu alongside windows 7
after i finally booted up wireless not ready firmware missing
and i really dont know my way around . ive tried searching for a bit with no luck

Connect you laptop with a wired connection and use Synaptic to install the package firmware-b43-lpphy-installer. This package will automatically download and install the needed firmware.

i have figured alot about linux out by now

heres where im stuck
i wanted to wipe my computer clean so i wiped the partitions execpt my windows 7 i was using grub now i cant get into windows
error:no such partition.
grub rescue>

what do i do???
help

Put in your Windows CD (or USB), boot from it and go to the recovery console.
Once there launch the command
Code:
bootrec.exe /fixmbr
After a restart your system should work fine.

i had this issue once before and some key hits at the bios got me to a repair console and from there to command prompt
i have a netbook so no usb/cd

I would wonder if there is a netbook without USB, but anyways, it could help to look into the manual for that machine, or look it up at the manufacturers website.

what i meant was i have no recovery usb to work from lol sorry
every netbook has usb

what if i try and reinstall ubuntu would that mke windows bootable also from the same window that would have ubuntu

If you install any Linux distribution to the now free space it will automatically pick up your Windows installation in the bootloader.
If you need a Windows installation medium you can get a free evaluation copy of Windows 7 here and instructions how to put in on USB here.

ok so i was wondering if you knew how i cld get rid of grub and use windows boot loader to load my OS's

Sorry, the only way I know is using a bootable Windows install medium.
