Idle timeout when watching a video make me enter password very often. How can I change that?

I just installed Ubuntu Studio on my new computer and having to learn a lot of new details about this OS.

My question is: the idle timeout when watching a video, for example, every few minutes the screen goes blank and makes me enter my password again. I would like to turn this off so that I still have to log in but, once in, just leave me alone. The computer is at home so there's little security risk.

An additional question is, is there a document that can take me through all the system apps that are part of the GUI environment that control and configure the OS? I'm not asking about the extra creative apps that came with Studio but just the ones that replace much of the command line commands.

Thanks for your help.

Look in the settings for something called "screen lock" and turn it off.

I think this may help you find the setting: https://help.ubuntu.com/stable/ubunt...nlocks.html.en

@frankbell that was it! The Screenlock was in the Xfce Screensaver Preferences. Thanks for your help. Solved in one.

I wonder which video player you were using that doesn't suspend screen blanking automatically.
mpv surely does that all by itself, at least on Xorg. Or are you running wayland?

None of This Works

None of this works for me. If I open the activities center and type "privacy" nothing shows up. I cannot find anything anywhere to fix this problem. I even tried reinstalling. It's making me rethink Ubuntu Studio altogether.
