I recently changed my password on Windows

Now when I am trying to see my files on windows I am receiving this error. I am running Linux mint through virtual box.
mount error(13): Permission denied
Refer to the mount.cifs(8) manual page (e.g. man mount.cifs)

Is the host OS windows? Are you trying to boot a virtual mint client?

I guess it is possible that you did some unusual install of the VM. The common place for both the virtual hard drive and the virtual machine build file should be in your users documents. I get the feeling that the files are not in the users path.

A normal password change should have nothing to do with a virtual machine's ability to see or access the files.
