As for the Lexmark printer.... I wasted good money on one of their printers, and I know from experience: Lexmark has very, very, poor support for Linux. Very few of their printers work in Linux, and if you can't get it to do anything, there's not much you can do at this point. I would advise you and everyone else who is having these troubles to send an e-mail to Lexmark. I did, and have yet to see a reply from them. But I bet if more of us follow suit, they may finally begin to see that the Linux community does matter.
As for the netscape thing... um.... use Mozilla
