A Question on Browser Sessions, and Browser Windows:

Background: I have a website where once logged in, I can open child windows (meaning a new tab in Firefox or file-->new window in IE 6) and still be authenticated.

But, if I am logged in and then double click the Firefox or IE program icon, (rather than opening a new tab or going to file--> new in IE) I lose the authentication.

Q: Is it possible for the authentication to traverse the opening of a new window, and not just a new tab of Firefox or child instance of IE?

This one is killing me.

Thanks in advance!

The Dude

Not sure what this has to do with programming, but obviously you don't want to call a second instance of the application by clicking on its icon (and it should refuse to open that anyway), but you use the menu entry for "new window".
