Making an O/S has always been hard. Making some other one will also be hard.

Mindlessly using an O/S can be easier.

I'd go to distrowatch and see the choices that some folks already use. No need to fool with anything, just download iso and set your vm to boot from it.

What an insulting and completely unnecessary comment.
OP might be IT challenged, have difficulties communicating things, and is most likely very young, but that says nothing about their chances of employment.
Also, they never insulted anyone here.

IF you can figure out how to 'run an app' (like a game etc) on your M$Win PC,
OSboxes.org/ubuntu will get you a full running Linux just as fast.

But there is a person I know who is totally baffled by an iPhone & certainly wouldn't consider touching a PC, so no Linux for them.

But they are a real estate investor!
