Question how to start suse linux in shell mode


hi , could someone please tell me how I can exit the x window system of suse linux ver 9.0 in order to install nvidia drivers ??? thanks in advance for any help ..dan

ctrl+alt+f1~6 to switch to one of the virtual consoles, as root type "init 3", after you install the driver "init 5" to get back.
