Add the ISO file as the boot drive, start the VM up and install it on the virtual disk.

Download and install your Virtualbox for Windows from here: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/se...ads/index.html

Also download and install the extension pack. It is useful.

Download the ISO image of the Ubuntu you want to install. Then follow the instruction by smallpond.

Have you installed VirtualBox?

Did you downloaded an Ubuntu ISO?

There are several howtos on installing Ubuntu in Virtualbox. The VirtualBox version in the howtos will be different then what you install but the steps are similar.

Post #5 has three links with tutorials on how to download and install VBox and how to install Ubuntu in VBox. The third link being a little more detailed. Did you read any of them?

How about "following the instructions from post #5 as you were told to"??? Did you try that? That is a step-by-step guide, with instructions and pictures. Can't get more detailed than that.

It's probably easier to take the ISO image and boot it as a Live image from a USB stick. Fewer steps involved, it won't affect the hard drive, and the problems from Windows won't get in the way of the system.
